Jama Kehoe Bigger

Screen Shot 2013-07-25 at 11.48.31 PMA dedicated, passionate, hard worker, Jama  has done more for us than we will probably ever know. Her drive and her devotion are admirable,  and her contributions to the Midwest Writers Workshop immeasurable, but what truly sets Jama apart is, well, Jama. She’s strong and has a way of seeing the world that is admirable, full of hope, full of happiness.

The Midwest Writers Workshop wouldn’t be the same without her, and this site exists for one purpose and one purpose only: to celebrate Jama. If we had a giant box of chocolates, we’d give it to her. If we had flowers, they’d be hers. But all we have is this website — and although she deserves so much more, this will have to do.

  1. Jama is a very kind and considerate soul. She comes from a wonderful family. I’m proud to have grown up with the Kehoes. I’ve been a fan for over 50 years. Jama, keep sharing your positive ‘vibe’ with the world–I love reading your writing. Your fan, Joanie

  2. Jama is gentle, kind, fun, inspiring, optimistic, friendly, welcoming . . . well, I may just run out of those positive adjectives. Let me say that I’m glad to have met her and glad to call her my friend. She’s an inspiration!

  3. Ever since I was a child Jama has been my hero. She was always the coolest person I knew. When we were teenagers we snuck off together to see the movie ‘Tommy’, shocking her entire family. But that was her, always up for an adventure. I cherish the time I spent with her.

  4. She has always been a role model for me. When I was younger I always wanted to be like her… I wanted her room, her clothes and yes even her cool friends. As I got older, she was always there to help me with college papers, updated resumes and plenty words of advice. I love her so! Little sister.

  5. Jama is one of the “really good people” a person is fortunate to meet in life. Her whole life is simply one “above and beyond” after another. Thank you, Jama, for all you do!
